Garrett earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from UL at Lafayette in 2011. He received his certification as an Engineer Intern from Louisiana Professional Engineering & Land Surveying Board in 2012, and he received his certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager from Association of State Floodplain Managers, Inc. in 2019. He is currently on track to become a professional engineer. Garrett has been employed with the City of Youngsville since 2015 under multiple roles at multiple departments. He started as a full-time field maintenance worker for Youngsville Sports Complex from 2015-2018, with specialization in pesticide application & being the assistant manager as peak roles. From 2018-2020, Garrett was the code enforcer for the city while stationed at Youngsville Public Works. Now he is the floodplain manager for the city since 2020 & is currently located at Youngsville Municipal Complex. From overseeing all floodplain related requests to assisting the city engineer with his daily duties, Garrett’s work & influence with the city’s infrastructure will leave a positive impact with Youngsville for many years to come.
