Small Business Saturday is a national event created by American Express to bring awareness of the importance of supporting local business! This year, Small Business Saturday is November 26th, the day after Black Friday. With the support of Cox Business, the Youngsville Chamber of Commerce, Metairie Center, Sugar Mill Pond Development and Retailers at the Shops at Waterview have joined together to plan “Shop the Sweet Life” Scavenger Hunt.
The day will begin at McDonald’s in Metairie Centre where participants will pick up a goodie bag, and a list of businesses with their discounts/specials/deals for that day, as well as a schedule of events. If you wish to bring your children Santa will be available for photos from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. An all-day Scavenger Hunt for ‘Sweet Life Clues” will follow, along with promotional events throughout Youngsville, and all culminating with the Grand Prize drawing at Sugar Jam concert in Sugar Mill Pond.

As a member of the Chamber, you are encouraged to add an item for customers in the goodie to promote your business. bags that are being donated by our Presenting Sponsor, Cox Business.
Businesses can create a “Sweet Life Clue” in their shop.
The Chamber is encouraging businesses to include activities for kids as well: cookie decorating, coloring station, spa day (for nail salons or boutiques), chalk board drawing, anything that might help draw families to your store and entertain kids while parents shop. Please inform the Chamber of any plans so it can be included on the list of events. The Chamber will be gathering items for gifts baskets to be presented at the end of the evening to participants in the scavenger hunt. The deadline for receiving gift basket or promotional items is November 10. This is free to Chamber of Commerce Members and $25.00 fee for non-members to Youngsville Chamber of Commerce. We hope to give away two baskets and our Grand Prize (provided by our Presenting Sponsor COX BUSINESS). Customers must have a minimum of 5 stamps to be entered in the drawing that will be announced at Sugar Jam that evening in Sugar Mill Pond. If you would like to add anything to the gift basket, please drop your item at the Chamber office.
The Chamber is asking local businesses to promote this event on social media in your store and by word of mouth to family and friends.
The key is draw customers to Youngsville by offering a shopping experience like no other!
