2022 Youngsville Mardi Gras Parade Announced

MARDI GRAS SEASON IS BACK
YOUNGSVILLE’S MAYOR KEN RITTER ANNOUNCED the City of Youngsville’s Mardi Gras Parade will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11AM.
Parade permit applications must be completed online at Youngsville.us. Deadline to enter the parade is Monday February 21, 2022. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION begins Monday, January 10 through Friday, February 11, 2022. Parade permits for floats/ trucks pulling trailers cost $400 and single vehicles/dance schools cost $200. After February 11, 2022 permits for floats/trucks pulling trailers goes up to $500 and single vehicles/dance schools goes up to $300. Trailers must be less that 40′ in length and must have sides not less that 4′ in height. Double Decker Floats can be no higher than 13′.
This year’s parade will coincide with the Mardi Gras Mambo NCAA Division 1 women’s fast pitch softball tournament, which will be held at the Youngsville Sports Complex, February 25-27. The Mardi Gras Mambo softball tournament, hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University, will feature 10 teams from around the country and over 250 players. Most of the participating teams are scheduled to ride in the parade.
MAYOR RITTER STATED, “Mardi Gras is back and I am pleased to announce the UL Lafayette Softball team will be leading this year’s parade. We are excited to watch them take on the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Mardi Gras Mambo softball tournament. The City of Youngsville is proud to continue offering this family friendly parade and we look forward to hosting a collegiate softball tournament the same weekend. We look forward to seeing you for the Mardi Gras Parade and the Mardi Gras Mambo in Youngsville, Where Life Is Sweeter!”
The Parade will take the same route this year, starting at the Youngsville Sports Complex on Savoy Road and ending at the Youngsville Sports Complex.

A message from Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux & Youngsville Police Department: Please make plans to arrive early for the parade. Several roads will be closing at 9:30am prior to the parade time or earlier if the traffic congestion warrants.

2022 Mardi Gras Flag Raising Ceremony

YOUNGSVILLE’S MAYOR KEN RITTER ANNOUNCED TODAY, that Mardi Gras is back for 2022 and the City of Youngsville will officially kick off the Mardi Gras Season with a Mardi Gras flag raising ceremony Friday, January 7, 2022 at 12:30pm at Youngsville City Hall, 305 Iberia St. Youngsville Mardi Gras krewes including Krewe Des Amis and Krewe La Vie Doux’s Mardi Gras flags will officially be raised at this time. Please join city officials and our two city krewes for this special celebration. The Youngsville Mardi Gras parade will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11am. Downtown Utility, Drainage, and Streetscape Improvements Project: Contractor Advertisement and Selection Has Begun.
As the city of Youngsville continues to grow, it’s important that no part of our city is left behind and that we improve together as one city. Mayor Ken Ritter is thrilled that the plans for this project are complete and he is excited to get it underway in 2022!
- A sewer force main upgrade for PS3 on Young St.
- Road reconstruction on Lafayette & Church Streets
- Roadway widening on Lafayette Street between the new Municipal Complex and St Anne’s Church
- The addition of decorative light poles on Lafayette & Church Streets
- The addition of concrete angle parking on the north end of Church Street between 1st-5th & parallel parking spots on the southside of Church Street
- Installation of landscape beds to beautify Royville along Church Street
- Additional sidewalks on Church Street near Youngsville Middle.
- Youngsville’s recent acquisition of Foster Park, the intentional site selection for the new home of city government at 89/92, St. Anne’s expansion, & several new businesses and properties along Church and Lafayette Streets make now a great time to strengthen our original village. Santa’s Polar Express is coming to Youngsville and will be visiting Youngsville neighborhoods this holiday season!
